Mercury-free series is coming.

The Minamata Convention on Mercury, signed in Kumamoto by the government representative of the People’s Republic of China on October 10, 2013. According to the Minamata Convention, since 2020, the contracting parties have banned the production and import and export of mercury-containing products.

Mercury is a naturally-occurring element found in air, water, and soil, but its distribution in nature is extremely small and is considered a rare metal.

At the same time, mercury is a highly toxic non-essential element, widely present in various environmental media and food chains (especially fish), and its traces are spread all over the world.

Mercury can accumulate in organisms and is easily absorbed by the skin, respiratory tract and digestive tract.

Minamata disease is a type of mercury poisoning. Mercury destroys the central nervous system and has an adverse effect on the mouth, mucous membranes and teeth.

Prolonged exposure to high mercury environments can cause brain damage and death.

Despite the high boiling point of mercury, mercury vapor saturated at room temperature has reached several times the poisonous dose.

Minamata disease is a type of chronic mercury poisoning, named after the fishing village first discovered in the 1950s near Minamata Bay in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.

According to the provisions of the Minamata Convention, the State party will ban the production, import and export of mercury-added products by 2020, for example, some batteries, certain fluorescent lamps, and some mercury-added medical supplies such as thermometers and sphygmomanometers.

The Contracting Governments agreed in the Minamata Convention that each country will develop a national plan to reduce and gradually eliminate mercury within three years from the date of entry into force of the treaty.

A glass thermometer, whose scientific name is a triangular rod thermometer, is a short glass tube all over the body, which is fragile. The blood in the whole body is a heavy metal element called “mercury”.

After the masters “pull neck”, “bubble”, “throat shrink”, “sealing bubble”, “merging mercury”, “sealing head”, “fixed point”, “semicolon”, “penetrating printing”, “test” “, “Packaging” 25 processes carefully created, was born in the world. It can be described as “thousands of efforts”.

The subtlety is that between the capillary glass tube and the glass bubble in the middle, there is a place that is particularly small, called “shrink”, and mercury is not easy to pass. The mercury will not drop after the thermometer leaves the human body to ensure accurate measurement. Before use, people usually throw mercury below the thermometer scale.

China will stop producing mercury thermometers in 2020.

In order to ensure the accuracy, we use alloys instead of mercury. You can find mercury-free products on our website.
